Soil Samples are taken from each end of tank 1-2 feet below bottom of tank. The tank is pumped out, cut open, thoroughly cleaned out and the tank is filled with sand or pea-gravel. The fill and vent pipes are removed. A certificate and report are issued to the owner and filed with the state DEQ (Oregon only). |

Tank is Decommissioned in place or by removal. A Generic Remedy report is written, certificate issued and filed with Oregon DEQ and property owner. |

The tank is pumped out, excavated, removed and soil samples taken. The tank is then transported to an approved site to have it cut, cleaned and scrapped. The hole is back filled and compacted. The ground cover and or sod are replaced at the excavation site. A Decommissioning Certification is issued to the property owner upon completion. |

The tank is pumped out and any usable fuel is reclaimed and any waste product will be disposed. The tank is then transported to an approved site to have it cut, cleaned and scrapped. A new underground tank is installed in its place or a new above ground tank is installed. The hole is back filled and compressed. The ground cover and or sod are replaced at the excavation site. |

If petroleum contamination is discovered, cleanup of the petroleum contamination may be needed, depending on the severity. It involves the removal of the contaminated soil and disposed at a landfill and replaced with clean soil.
